Andrew bought the car as a rolling Escort G3 Gartrack shell, which has then undertaken modifications.
Firstly the car was stripped inside and out, taking all rollcage padding, seats, belts (etc) out. Stickers were removed from bodywork.Once all this was done, the car was ready for modifications. The first job was widening the gear box turret. The floor was cut, and the new turret was made and then fitted ready for the new gearbox and bellhousing.
After that the engine mountains were made ready for the new engine and were then fitted into the engine bay.
After all the major body modifications were completed, they started to put the cars essentials in. First the new pro-flex was fitted by Andrew. The gear box was fitted into the new turret and the prop shaft was put into the prop shaft turret. The engine bay was painted white and when dry the new engine was put in by Andrew. The car then had to go to have its exhaust manafold made up and afterwards fitted.
After all this was done, it was time to start on the interior. First the interior was painted black and the dry sump pipes were moved away from the exhaust pipe. The new seats, belts, gear leaver, speedo (etc) were fitted. Once this was done, the car was taken to Stoke-on-trent to be put on the dino, so that Andrew knew exalcy what bhp there was at the wheels and its full capability. The perspex windows were fitted after the 1st rally and the paddle shift was fitted after the 2nd rally.
